| DESCRIPTION : World-renowned classical vocalist, Sangeet Martand Padmavibhushan Pandit Jasraj will be performing at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga on Sunday, October 31st at 3:00 p.m. Titled “The Legend Turns 80,” this concert will be a unique event dedicated to celebrate the eightieth year of one of India’s greatest cultural icons, Pandit Jasraj. On this occasion, Panditji will enchant the audience with Hindustani Classical, Devotional and Haveli Sangeet music. All the proceeds of this event will go to AIM for Seva, Canada, a charity registered in Ontario and dedicated to providing education to under-privileged children in India. |

| 'Legacy' 2nd Annual Pandit Kishan Maharaj Jayanti festival |

| DESCRIPTION : The best of India and Canada come together in this festival held in honour of Indias legendary tabla master, the late Pandit Kishan Maharaj. The first day (Sept. 25th at 7:00 p.m.) will feature a tabla solo by Pt. Kishan Maharajs son Pt. Pooran Maharaj, accompanied by Steve Oda on the sarod, and a Mohan Veena recital by Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. The second day (Sept. 26th at 3 p.m.) will feature a vocal recital by Dr. Vinay Bhide, accompanied by Raya Bidaye on harmonium and Pt. Pooran Maharaj on tabla, and a Kathak dance recital by Hemant and Vaishali Panwar, accompanied by Vineet Vyas on tabla. There will also be an informal discussion/demonstration about Pt. Kishan Maharajs legacy of accompanying Kathak dance, conducted by Bageshree Vaze and Vineet Vyas, at 2:00 p.m. on Sept. 26th (just before the concert). This event is part of Culture Days, and is generously supported by the Ontario Arts Council and Toronto Arts Council
